another one for Nick

IF   the wages of sin is death
AND   Jesus totally paid that debt for everyone
THEN   WHY do Christians still DIE? Jesus already paid that debt, why are they still dying?
AND ALSO   Why would anyone then be sent to hell, as Jesus has already paid for all sins past, present, and future.

BUT…  Most people WILL BE sent to hell, according to the Bible. People who have already had their debt to Biblegod paid in full and canceled. People whose sins have been washed “whiter than snow” in the blood of the lamb. People who, in Biblegod’s eyes, are perfect and innocent due to the death of Jesus. These people will roast in hell- forever.

CONCLUSION:   Biblegod is sending to “debtors prison” billions of people whose debts have already been paid.

$$$  The Wages of Sin $$$

IF   the penalty for sin is  eternal torture/separation  from Biblegod
BUT   Jesus suffered torture/separation for only 3 days
THEN   Jesus didn’t pay the full penalty for sin.

THEREFORE   all Christians are STILL IN THEIR SINS!!!!! At the best, they’ve only had 3 days knocked off their sentence of eternity.
Let’s do the math…  Eternity – 3 Days = Eternity!!!
Yup, you guys are sooooo screwed!!!

note: these are not fro me, but statements from others

In the Garden of Eden, God told Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge and evil “for when you eat of it you will surely die” (Gen 2.17). Adam and Eve ate of it, but did not die physically and that is the key to understanding Paul’s comments in Rom 6: when we sin, we die spiritually. Indeed, Paul addresses that very thing in the same verse when he explains that the gift of God is eternal life. Hence, we are dealing with spiritual ideas and concepts. Christians still die but they are promised a resurrection from the dead to inherit and find final fulfillment of eternal life. Christians currently have eternal life (1 John 5.13) but there is yet a final fulfillment of this eternal life still to come in the resurrection. This is the hope of all Christians: though we die, yet will we live.

As for the conclusion reached by the detractor, everyone who ends up in heaven and hell will get exactly what a just God has determined. No one will be in heaven who should not be there and likewise hell. The only way to the Father (and therefore heaven) is through Jesus Christ. Why Jesus? Because he is the only one has satisfied the wrath of God in his vicarious death on the cross. Jesus, being 100% man and 100% God (See Heb 1 and 2 where both are argued by the Hebrew writer as realities), was the only sacrifice great enough to meet the demands of God. As the prophet has said, “surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows…he was peirced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him…for the transgression of my people he was stricken” (Isa 53.4,5,8). Through his humanity he suffered death. By his divinity he was able to take upon himself our sins, every sin. The only way to escape the penalties of our sins is by the blood of Jesus. Through our faith in Jesus and obedience to him, we receive this blood to cover our sins.

I appreciate your site and hope I can help in anyway as you continue to battle for the hearts and minds of men.
